Peculiarly, as an adverb has three different meaning.

Which of them fit for behave peculiarly? For what situations would you use behave peculiarly. If a decent person starts to behave strangely would you say "He/She started to behave peculiarly."?

In my opinion, the adverb "peculiarly" in this case means "in a strange way". Hence, with the verb "behave", it means "to behave in a strange way".

Yes, but as the meanings spread out, so do the ways of expressing this clearly. There are dozens of meanings of words like set in the dictionary, but most native speakers would use alternatives for many.
