I am wondering if my sentence is grammatically correct.

Ben confronted his colleague, Phil, and called him a liar to his face.

The word "confronted" includes the idea that they are face to face, so I find the use of "to his face" somewhat redundant.

Ben confronted his colleague, Phil, and called him a liar.
