Yes, I think weblogs work very well, and the particular ones you cited are excellent examples.

They need to be updated regularly for them to work well and keep interest going, however; something that we need to work on at this site!

Can I ask you a couple of questions?

What do you think of weblogs, and which are your top 5 (if you have a top 5)?

Do you run a site, and possibly a weblog?

I have only recently become interested in the use of Blogs with students (http://blog-efl.blogspot.com), and I have been searching the Web to find examples, opinions, experiences, etc. I have found some examples of how teachers use Blogs to keep in touch with their students, to tell them about homework, etc, but no instances of teachers actually using blogs with students to publish their writing.

If anyone out there has had experience of this and would be willing to share the information, I would love to hear from them.

I use forums to keep in touch with students, both here and at our Delphi forum. ;-)
