Hello all users!
A workmate of mine asked me today to translte the following sentence from Polish into English for him.
The sentence reads as follows"
Boards were moved about and built as a platform for painters to stand on while painting; the boards were taken out after the work.
What is your opinion?
Thank you.
Context.
The boards referred to were used as a platform to enable painters to stand on them while they were doing their work or, in other words, so that they could stand on them during their work.

I think you can assume that to build a platform, the boards would have to be moved about, and also that painters paint.
"The boards were used to build a temporary platform for the painters to work on."

I'd probably use the word 'scaffold' or 'scaffolding' in place of 'platform'. They are specific words for this context.
