Hello,

I would like to know whether the following sentences are correct:

"I would like to break the 100 metre swimming record."
"I would like to break the record of swimming 100 metres."
"I would like to break the record in swimming 100 metres."

Thanks for your help

The first is okay.
The second isn't really okay.
The third could be rescued with "the" 100 metres because it's an event.

But I prefer this: "I would like to break the 100-metre record in swimming" or "I would like to break the record for 100 metres in swimming"
