Hi there,

What is meant by "buck-up-the-troops conference call"?

Here's the context:
Clinton held a buck-up-the-troops conference call on Monday with donors, superdelegates and other supporters.

Hi Englishlanguage,

You should know the meaning of the each component of the composite idiom in order to reach an easy solution of the present question above, which will ensure a hand-down victory for you.

buck-up = cheer up, become encourages, as in:

Buck-up! We'll soon have it done.

conference-call = a conference by telephone in which three or more persons in different locations participate by means of a control switching unit.

The rest is a piece of cake.

Regards.

V.
