Hi,

I am wondering if the phrase "If you have any questions, please contact the underwritten" is still used?

Maybe I've had a very sheltered life but I have never seen it used.

The word you're looking for is "undersigned" not "underwritten."

However, I think it's horrible. If it's my name below, then I should tell you contact ME if you have any questions, and I should not refer to myself in the third person as "the undersigned."

I have seen 'undersigned' being used in letters. I think it is old-fashioned and sounds overly formal. There are other formal words like aforesaid, abovementioned, herewith, hereby, hereinafter, etc which I thought only lawyers would use.

You sometimes still see undersigned in letters signed by a number of people, like letters to newspapers protesting at something.
