First are the secular Muslims, or “cafeteria Muslims,” that accept the cultural trappings of Islam, but do not personally heed the call to jihad.

According to text, I do know what the writer means by Cafeteria right here. Also, I looked Cafeteria up in dictionaries and as a result it means restaurant. Now, when we use such nouns and we don’t mean what being defined in dictionaries but the contexts are the decision makers, what do we call that kinds of nouns? Do they mean figurative meanings or literary meanings?

Do they actually cook the food in school or hospital cafeterias? Or do they have the food delivered from somewhere else? Every time I see a school or hospital cafeteria it makes me think that the cafeteria workers don't have anything to do with preparing the food.

We're getting rather off the point here, but some cafeteria food is cooked on the premises and some isn't. There is no clear answer to your question.

1. When you go to a cafeteria, you choose what you want (and like). Right?

2. Well, let's say that religion X has 10 rules.

a. If you are a true believer in religion X, you will obey all 10 rules.

b. But if you are a so-called cafeteria member of religion X, you say to yourself:

I like rules 1 - 5, so I will obey them.
I do not like rules 6 -7, so I will ignore them.
I like rule 8 a little bit, so maybe I will obey it sometimes.
Rules 9 and 10 are not clear to me. I will decide later whether or not I want to obey them.
