My response is in terms of AmE usage.

When we give just a phone number we use "call 11111"
If you are interested call 222222. OK.

If you are interested call on 222222 We usually use "on" for an extension to the main number as in, "Call Sue at 222222 on extension 33" or "Call Sue at 222222, extension 33".
