Hey all

Someone asked me about this sentence :

He did not have money before, but he ............. some money right now.

a) came up
b) came with

I told him I think the first option is the correct one. is that right ?

Thanks in advance.

NOT A TEACHER.

I don't think either is correct. The second would be acceptable if you changed "right now" to, for example, "this time." Are you sure that "came up with" is not one of the options?

Take care

Thanks a lot Jasmin165 for your reply. I just copied the same sentence that he sent me, I better ask him to make sure about the sentence because it confuses me too.

Thanks again :-D

"He came up with the money" is right.

"If you don't come up with money by tomorrow, your kneecaps get broken," said his drug dealer.
"He didn't have the money on hand, but was able to come up with it by begging from friends."

thanks a lot Raymott. Now, it is clear that came up with is the suitable answer.
