Can somebody help me correct these sentences?

1) I don't like to keep a pet/have a pet because pet like animal and cat will shed their fur all over the house.
2) The fur of pet like dog and cat will fall off/out and will be all over the house.

1. Either is OK but I like "to have" or "having"
2. "fur of pets, like cats and dogs, will fall out (or "shed")"
