I'd like to ask if "while" can be omitted in the following sentence:

Look, KLPNO - the sentence itself doesn't read well, I'm afraid. It's a perfect example of the so-called dangling participle - in your sentence the following information was actually carrying out the research :shock:
Change the sentence into something like this:
While I was carrying the research, the following information was identified.
or
While carrying the research, I identified the following information.
And then you can omit the conjunction while:
Carrying the research, I identified the following information.
