Hello.

I'd like to know what "carrier-led" does mean in the following paragraph extracted from this website?

WASHINGTON–The U.S. Navy has decided to deploy the USS Nimitz as a third carrier-led strike force to the western Pacific to increase pressure on North Korea to rein in its arms programs.

I'm not sure but I think "-led" means leadership or something like that, so carrier-led means the leading carrier. Am I right?

Thank you in advance.

No. The strike force is led by a carrier (a type of ship).
