cat in the heat

i've heard this expression couple of times and I still couldn't make out what it means. Can someone please explain its definition. Thanks.

The expression is "a cat in heat". That means the female cat is receptive to the advances of male cats.

That's the truth! Just last night I was working in my home office and heard what I thought was someone crying for help outside. The cries continued, so I stepped out onto my porch and saw that it was a cat (obviously in heat) caterwauling. :splat:

As Bob Barker used to say, please spay or neuter your pets!!

Yes,I always heard from cats..Sometime I am affaid that sound.It's terrible.I think the spring is coming so the cats like made sounds....
