Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?

Poirot said: “You do not think it possible that she committed suicides?”- “She?”. Mrs. Bishop snorted. “No, indeed. Hadn’t she made up her mind to marry Mr. Roddy? Catch her committing suicide!”

catch one doing = do not expect somebody to do it
