Sometimes we are so caught up in who's right and who's wrong that we forget what's right and wrong.

What is the meaning of caught up in in the above sentence?

It means that we are concentrating only on one particular aspect of a subject.
In these circumstances, such as that quoted above, we may not consider other [perhaps more important] aspects.
