A guy wants to help the chef in frying some meat balls, and said to the chef:

Guy: Do we have a ceremony?
Chef: No, put them in the fryer real slow, or they will fall apart.

What is the meaning of ceremony here (there is no lireal ceremony or anything related to that, they both were in the kitchen"

Thanks.
