Is the senence 'You can chalk the drinks up to my account.' used these days?

No, the only uses of "chalk up" I see are almost set phrases, like "chalk that up to inexperience." It's metaphorical, not about tallying actual purchases.

"To chalk it up to something" is heard frequently in BrE but not in the context you're trying to use it. Like SoothingDave, I'm most used to hearing it in phrases like "chalk it up to inexperience/experience".
