Dear teacher,

Would you be kind enough to check out the plausibility of the following sentences?

The greatest names can sometimes be alleged for opinions which are incredible.

They are alleged to have signed a secret treaty.

Canadian authorities alleged repeatedly in court documents that he was connected to Osama bin Ladin's organization.

We have to prove every alleged fact concerning the supposed assassination.

So they allege but have they any proof?

They are alleged to have been bribed.

He is alleged to be untrustworthy.

The statement alleged to have been made by the defendant is clearly untrue.

We have to allege his illness as a reason for not doing the work.

He laid the blame on me for this alleged refusal.

He bought an alleged antique vase.

It was not confirmed the alleged illness of the premier.

He alleged that he was the victim of a crime.

It has been alleged that you stole the money.

There are many alleged miracles in the world around us.

allege = to put into words positively and with conviction: affirm, argue, assert, asseverate, aver, avouch, avow, claim, contend, declare, hold, maintain, say, state/ to bring forward for formal consideration: adduce, cite, lay, present/ to state without proof

Thank you for your efforts.

Regards,

V.

No - and I don't understand what the sentence is trying to say!

No - you do not "allege" + a noun. You "allege that......." So this should be "We allege that his illness was the reason he did not do his work"

He laid the blame on me for this alleged refusal.

He bought an alleged antique vase.
"Allegedly"

It was not confirmed the alleged illness of the premier.
Word order is incorrect:
The alleged illness of the premier was not confirmed.

Please see my amendments in red. The others are fine, in my opinion.
