Cleopatra

She's the world's busiest little cat,
Always on an important mission.

She's always doing this or that,
Always eager to learn a new lesson.

A kitten is impatient, curious,
So wild she'll make you furious.

If you detain her, no doubt she will protest.
She's on important business-- no time to take a rest.

A kitten is a perpetual motion
Machine of nature's own invention.

It may happen one day
(When you're not paying attention)

That she'll sneak up on you
And steal your heart away.

It's a such lovely poem with a vision of a cute kitten inside :)
A smile spreads on my face when I read this poem I 'm sure.
And now I just wonder what the titile " Cleopatra" means?

Thanks to TDOL and Lucy. :D

To answer Lucy's question, "Cleopatra" ("Cleo" for short) was the name of the kitten who inspired the poem. She was indeed both impatient and curious. :D

Ok , that sounds funny of this kitten's name, by the way, do you really have ever a cat with this intriguing name?? And may I know what inspired you to name your kitten like this? It's no wonder to entitle your poem with the kitten's name!
:) ;)

The Egyptians were very fond of cats. Indeed, cats were even worshipped as deities in Egypt. Thus, Cleopatra seemed like a natural choice for a name. BTW, she did know her name. Once when I called her she went in the opposite direction.

The kitten with the name of " Cleopatra" is really a lucky and divine creature. ;)Anyway, the story about its origin is really amazing.

Here in China more and more people are prefer to raise puppies as their pets instead of kittens, so it's hard to see a kitten again

In the UK people are turning more to cats because they're more convenient in a city. ;-)

Isn't Cleopatra a Roman Queen?
'Cause i took latin in my school, and we learned a little Roman history. I thought Cleopatra was the wife of Marcus Antony or Augustus.

Cleopatra was the Queen of Egypt. She wasn't exactly Egyptian though. She was a Ptolemy. In other words, she was Greek. She was a lover to both Julius Caesar and Marc Antony. Cleopatra (Cleopatra VII) was the last Queen of Egypt. (The Ptolemy dynasty began in 323 B.C.)

Cleopatra lived from 69 B.C. to 30 B.C. (Toward the end of the latter part of The Earlier Han Dynasty (China).)

Do you know your history,
Or is it just a mystery?

I guess the Chinese Empire is pretty advanced!!

The Chinese civilization was going strong long before there was a Rome. In many ways China was ahead of the West for many years. Times do change tho. China hasn't been ruled by an emperor for many years.
