What's the difference between :

Climb up a tree

and

climb up the tree

Are they both correct?

Another question:

Do we say: to be conused WITH or BY something?

Climb up a tree climb up any tree

and

climb up the tree climb up a specific tree >> that tree over there; the tree on the corner.

Are they both correct? Yes

Another question:

Do we say: to be confused WITH or BY something? He was confused by all the different instructions.

You can confuse something with something else. That is when you mix them up. Example:
I often confuse Angela with her sister because they look so much alike.
:)
