I am wondering if my sentences are grammatically correct. I have tried to use "bring sth down upon"

Clive's constant gambling brought misery down upon his whole family. In the end, he lost his job and they lost their home and ended up in a bed and breakfast.

They are grammatically correct but the fact that he lost his job and his home raises the question of how they could afford to live in a BnB. They should be homeless.

In the UK and other EU countries, if you have lost everything, and you have family, you will always get some kind of accommodation. If there are no flats available, the authorities will find a room for you in a BnB and pay for it. There are families who live in BnB for months.

I suggest we stick to the traditional abbreviation for bed and breakfast: B&B.

It wouldn't surprise me to find that AirBnB have trademarked not just the full name but the "BnB" part of it too. I'd certainly never seen it before the company sprang up. It's always B&B for me.

Ampersand is a special character which can't be part of a URL. It was natural to convert one into an N to create the name of the very successful web-based company. I hadn't thought of it before but I suppose BnB will probably escape into the wild and become a common substitute for "B&B".
