Dear teachers

Does this sentence read well?

High volatile matter and low fixed carbon contents lead the coal to fire fast.

Thank you

As technical or scientific English it reads fine. If you were writing for non-technical readers, it would be better to be a little more wordy e.g. "A high proportion of volatile matter and low fixed carbon content lead the coal to ignite quickly."
