In most of the books on puncutation, I have read that after or before a direct reference to a person, a comma should be placed. E.g:
Thanks, Michael
Michael, thanks
But I have seen some cases where people dont put comma, as in the following case:
Thanks Julie, you solved my problem
Can anyone clarify?
