Does "company" have any meaning of "coworker"? The example may not be related to that meaning. Someone told me he's heard of such a meaning like "coworker" or "colleague", but I don't think so.
3 might be a similar meanig.

kk99)He is great company because he is funny.

Company | Define Company at Dictionary.com
3.
an assemblage of persons for social purposes.

***** NOT A TEACHER *****

This doesn't make sense. It should be 'He is great company because he is funny'. 'Company' in this sense is uncountable.

See definition #2 here: James is good company (= is a cheerful person who is enjoyable to be with).

Sorry, it was my typing mistake, anyway I'm interested in the possible meaning of "coworker" for "company".

"Company" does not mean "co-worker."
