Hello

I did a test on "conditional" sentences.

If I'd been there, things ...........different now. (my answer is would have been)

Answer: would be or would have been

Why is "would be" also correct in this sentence?

You can't combine "would have been" and "now" in your example. Both "I'd been there" and "would have been" refer to the past. "Now", of course, refers to the present. In your example, "would be different now" would be (sorry for the repeat!!) correct.
