Why this sentece is wrong?

"It had been a normal sunday, if my friend would not have called me to join him in a trip to ladakh"

Why this sentece is wrong?
Because after "if" you should use past perfect.
"It had been a normal sunday, if my friend would not have called me to join him in a trip to ladakh"
Third conditional sentences: if + past perfect, would / wouldn´t have + past participle.

If my friend hadn´t called me to join him in a trip to Ladakh, it would have been a normal Sunday.

It would have been a normal Sunday if my friend hadn´t called me to join him in a trip to Ladakh. (no comma in this case)

Hello Bhagona,
Without knowing the context, you could also correct the sentence with: it had been a normal Sunday until my friend called me to join him .....

OR
"Had my friend not called me ..., it would have been ... "
