Hi,

could you please tell me whether the highligted expressions are correct:

Tenders containing uncertified, defective or untrustworthy copies of documents will not be evaluated.
("defective" should probably mean that it lacks some of the necessary elements, but I am not sure. "Untrustworthy" might be replaced by "not authentic" or "inauthentic" maybe)

Thanks a lot!

As the words apply to the copies, I would take them to mean -
defective - damaged
untrustworthy - looking as if the copies have been "doctored" in some way. Perhaps the dates appear to be smudged or to have been altered., for example.

and which expression would you use instead of "defective" to mean that the copies do not include all the necessary elements?

I would have no problems with "defective" = faulty in this context. To me it would imply the documents were themselves incorrectly drawn up.
