If it's germane to the subject matter, I don't see why you can't use it.

But did I correct use article "the" in this sentence?

Which articles are necessary?
[FONT=&quot][The] properties of [the] molecular systems in [the] studies of [the/a] charge transfer reversibility and [the] polymerization processes.
[/FONT]

I'd go so far as to say that no "the" is necessary in that title, and that "the" is not used at the beginning of titles unless it is truly necessary. They would be in a proper sentence in the text, of course.

Eg.:
"Properties of polymers"
"Characteristics/Features of molecular systems"
