“There’s a shop down the road.”
In the above sentence what does the preposition down actually mean? Instead of “down” can we use “up”........like “There’s a shop up the road”? in that case what would the sentence mean?
So I’d like to know when to use up and when to use down? Is there any predefined rules for this?
Please advise?
