Please read the sentence below and get it clear.

1)''A word which is used before a noun,a noun phrase or a pronoun,connecting it to another word is called preposition''

If i rewrite the sentence below do the sentence carry the same meanings like above?

2)''A word which is used before a noun,a noun phrase or a pronoun, which connect it to another word is called preposition.''

If it is right then (connecting/which connect) modifies the noun phrase ''a word'' and here does 'it' refer to 'a pronoun'?

I saw this sentence in my mobile dictionary.The sentence refer to the definition of ''preposition'', refer to what preposition is.Just say the sentence is right or not?

I saw this sentence in my mobile dictionary. The sentence refer to the definition of ''preposition'', refer to what preposition is. Just [strike]say[/strike] tell me if the sentence is right or not please.
