Daily conversation...but which one is correct?

Cicily again. My question is as following.

Even to this day we don't know what happened
(1) for sure.
(2) some day.

Which one is the correct ending for the sentence and why?

By the way, when we use "some day", do we use past tense or future tense, or both are adopted?

We don't know what happened for sure.

some day, adv. at some unknown time in the future. :wink:
