I have listened to the TV. When they mentioned the death of someone, they always said "He is dead" Why not "He was dead" ..that person is no longer here.Can someone explain why the present tense is used "He is dead"

But sometimes they will say 'He was dead'. For example, 'He was (already) dead when the ambulance reached the hospital.'
