Can we use "Despite" or "Although" in this way?Or we have to use the same topic or person on both side of the comparison:

"Despite having noisy neighbors, our neighborhood is quite quiet."
"Although we have noisy neighbors, our neighborhood is quite quiet."

Replace "out" with our​ in both sentences.

With that correction, the second sentence works. It establishes a minor exception with reference to the writer, then states the general case.

The first doesn't. It says that our neighborhood's neighbors are noisy, which (despite its pleasant alliteration) doesn't make sense.
