It is me again!

The whole sentence reads as follows:

Deviating from this, the absorber will be delivered in several parts to the shipyard.

The sentence is taken from a manual about a system aimed at removing sulphur from exhaust gases.

It seems to me that "deviating from this" simply means "apart/aside from this".

I am afraid an electronic version is not available.

Thank you.

We need to know what 'this' is.

What is the previous sentence, which might explain it.

This sentence obviously follows on from something that explains what "this" is.

I hasten to reply. The text that precedes the sentence in question is as follows:
3.2 Fabrication process
In general all parts of the system will be fabricated checked and coated in the sub supplier’s factory.

Could someone tell me if "deviating from this" simply means "apart/aside from this".

Sort of. It is describing a deviation from the general statement given.
