is this correct
can i sit here ---> request
may i sit here ----> permission
and
you might not do this
you should not do this
please explain me elaborately :?

I'd say that 'can' and 'may' are being used the same way there. Some say that only 'may' is to be used when asking for permission, but this does not reflect English usage, where they are both used. 'May' is morelikely to be used in formal settings.

you might not do this = it is possible
you should not do this = it is better if you don't
;-)
