I have tried to use "dig over" in my sentence. Would you please correct my mistakes?

I see often Bob digging over with the spade on his allotment and planting vegetables.

Thank you for your corrections. But I am wondering if wanted to describe what kind of a tool Bob was using could I write like this:

I often see Bob digging with the spade and planting vegetables on his allotment.

A spade is generally the tool that's used to dig on allotments. If you must use the name of the tool, say "I often see Bob using his spade ..."

'Allotment' sounds very unnatural to my AmE ears. I would use 'plot' or perhaps 'lot' to refer to a gardening space.
