I need to write a sign indicating the name of a facility in a youth campsite.
This facility has a dance floor, psychedelic lights and a powerful HI-Fi but nothing else, which means: no drinks, no tables or chairs etc. So, the children go there exclusively to dance.
The first name that came to my mind was “Disco”. But I’ve already learned that it’s considered old-fashioned and certainly in disuse.
The second was “Dance Hall” which I dropped for identical reasons
Then word “Club” came up too, but the fact of it being so unspecific regarding the kind of club a facility under such a sign would be, led me to consider more favourably the term “Night club” instead. Being more specific, this one might have worked, were it not because I perceived a whiff of alcoholic drinks in the term.
Finally, I’m pondering “Dance club”. This one I know not whether it is appropriate or not.
Being myself only an intermediate English student, I’d appreciate if anyone could give me some input on this matter.
