I dont think "do less harm ourselves" doesn't mean "do less harming ourselves but "do less harm (to animals) ourselves", where "ourselves" is only an emphasis. What do you think?

It has nothing to do with harming ourselves. It's talking about each of us finding ways to cause less suffering to animals.
