"Do" can be a Vt and a Vi. I have a question about the following sentence: "What to do is as important as how to do it."

If I omit the pronoun "it", will the sentence be still acceptable? Does it make any difference? Thank you so much.

Mostly, do is transitive. Intransitive uses are much less common. Be that as it may, in the sentence you supplied, do is definitely transitive and the final it is necessary.
