- Do you have a car?

- Have you got a car?

Are these forms both correct?

Is GOT always necessary?

Yes, both forms are used.
No, "got" is not necessary.

but..isn't there any difference?
because someone tells me that do you have ...is used in America and have you... only in Great Britain.
