If there is a small kid who has just started going to school and probably he knows counting (I do not know what word to use instead of "counting" here because we cannot use counting, am I correct) up to 8 only but we are not sure of this but we know that he cannot count up to 100 then what do we need to ask that kid? Like up to what number is he comfortable to count to? Same condition with the alphabet.

I am saying this because we sometimes ask kids these questions. Sometimes there parents ask us to ask them, that up to what number can they count or up to what alphabet can they say alphabet (don't know the correct way to say it, sorry).
