I go on diving into the article usage, and I've got a question:

- One of the big superstars died recently.
- A big superstar died recently

Do they mean the same? More preciesly: Do they provide the same amount of information?

Yes. Yes. But don't use them.

When somebody famous dies they use the person's name. They don't say a superstar died.

Don't say "big superstar". That's weirdly redundant.

I agree.

I don't entirely agree. You'll see things like "Another superstar gone from our midst - So-and-so has died at the age of 98."

Or a teaser on the news: A superstar gone. Find out who after the break.
