[General] Does this sound ok? "Walked right up to choose..."

Hello,

He walked right up to choose the red balloon.
He walked straight up to choose the red balloon.

Do these two sentences sound OK? I want to say that this person walked to the vendor, determined or with his mind made up to choose the red balloon.

Either 'Walked right up...' or 'Walked straight up...' is OK, but one doesn't 'walk....to choose' something (normally). Perhaps they 'walked right/straight up and chose...'.
