Doubt about the presence of "there" in questions with "left" at the end
Hello,
I have a doubt about the presence of the word "there" in questions with the word "left" at the end of the sentence.
I sense that "there" must be correct in certain questions such as "Is there any milk left ?", but wrong in questions
such as "How much milk is left ?" and "[STRIKE]How much milk is there left ?[/STRIKE]" doesn't sound right to me.
Are my conceptions correct ?
Is there a rule I could give my ESL students about it ?
Thank you very much for your reply.
