How can I make the sentences below sound natural?

1. Teens can surf the Internet to search some useful information for their homework, and they can connect with their parents more conveniently. They also can chat with their friends by using smart phone.

2. Teenagers who addict to electronic gadgets also skip their homework to play games, leading to a downfall in their grades.

Are these more sentences written by your students that you're trying to correct?

Parts of these sentences have been revised by me. Each student is going to give an oral presentation in public with different topics. I have to make sure if these sentences sound natural, so I choose some sentences which sound awkward for your correction.

I'd change 'leading to a downfall in their grades' to 'leading to falling grades'.

I wouldn't use "downfall". Instead, I might use "drop".

I think a decline in their grades would be more natural.
