Hello teachers and the others members,

I would like to know if it is a normal use of the word downturn in a sense of fall. I give you an exemple, see below:

A stone downturn from the roof.

What do you mean about that?

Thanks.

Hello teachers and the other(s) no "s" members,

I would like to know if it is a normal to use the word "downturn" inthe sense of "fall". I'll give you an example, see below:

A stone downturn from the roof. No, you can't use it that way.

What do you mean about that? Do you mean "what do you think about that"?

Thanks.

Hi teacher,

Thanks for your correction, I have two questions, the first is about the word 'other' sometimes people write it with the 's', but I do not know if it is right or just a mistake whopeople make.

My second issue is the verb mean, if I write for example: she means no offence, in French we are going to translate this with the verb 'penser' I believe you follow the way of my brain. (Nonetheless, you're right about what I'd like to write).

Thanks for Gillneter, too.

The others = the other people/members/...
I am not a teacher.

Hi Mmasny,

If I write '
Hello teachers and the others' it is right. You agree?

Thanks.

I routinely write "Hi all," in my e-mails. I don't consider it poor English. Informal, yes, but not bad English.
