[Idiom] Dreaded lurgy

Could someone tell me what dreaded lurgy means?or lurgy?

If you have the lurgy, it just means you're sick. Usually it's a bad cold, or flu, or perhaps an upset stomach with vomiting and diarrhoea.

Some people just call it "the dreaded lurgy" in a slightly sarcastic way because it's not normally an illness that is worth dreading.
