When talking about clothes,

Ah, and, what does "bleed" mean as in "This blouse doesn't bleed."?

drip and dry means don't put it in the dryer. Let the item hang (out) to dry or let it dry naturally. When it hangs, it drips water, hence 'drip 'n dry'.

wash and wear means just that. Wash the item, dry it in the dryer, then wear it. It's faster to dry something in a dryer than to wait for it to drip 'n dry on a hanger.

You can drip 'n dry your hair and wash and wear your hair. That is, those terms are not just for items of clothing.

All the best,

The dye in the fabric comes out in the water. It bleeds into the water. If a blouse doesn't bleed, it means you can wash it with other clothing items. If a blouse bleeds, it means you cannot wash it with other clothing items. If you do, the dye in the fabric will bleed onto the fabrics of the other clothing items. Have you ever had white socks turn pink in the wash?
