In the following passage "Delta probably takes the dung medal for the worst food..." (CNN today)

Does Dung medal mean something like the opposite of gold medal?

Bye the way: That would mean that Delta has excellent food. It should be: "Dung medal for the best food"......

So no one would want a medal (an award) made of dung!

A "dung medal" would be awarded to the worst of the entire group.
